Here in RHA, we strive to develop leaders through the following means:
Community Councils : Community Councils are overseen by Vice Presidents, who are elected in the fall. Community Councils have an Executive Board serving as the leadership team as well as an Advisor and Residential College/Upperclass Experience Liaison to serve as resources. The Community Councils work to develop leaders, advocate for student needs & concerns, improve the residential experience of the community, provide updates for the community, and put on events for the community.
Community Council Training : Every semester, we hold a community council training session that helps community council members with their positions, teaches them new skills, and helps them branch out to other organizations, businesses, and more.
Fall Leadership Camp : At the beginning of the year, we hold a fall leadership camp in Northern Arizona. Around 250 residents attend this camp, where they make friends, learn about RHA, bond with their hall council, and learn what it means to be a student leader at ASU.
Meetings, Committees, and Boards : We have several meetings, committees, and boards for residents to be active in on community, residential college/upperclass experience, and campus-wide levels. There, they will gain their leadership voice and grow as student leaders on campus.
Leadership Informational Sessions : We hold informational sessions about becoming a leader, joining other clubs or organizations, and much more throughout the year.
Elections : At the end of the spring semester, or whenever needed, we hold elections in order to fill our RHA Staff. These elections provide residents with a unique opportunity to become a part of RHA’s Staff.
